スリランカ国立科学財団（NSF）団体が本学で見学と学習

2018年10月12日に、アナンダ・ジャヤワダネ局長を団長とするスリランカ国立科学財団（NSF, National Science Foundation）から16名が本学を来訪し、学内見学および動物科学に関する実習を行いました。
今回来訪されたのは、スリランカの諸大学の獣医学や畜産学に関連する若手教員やNSF顧問および官僚の方々でした。その他に、科学技術振興機構（JST）職員の西川 裕二様と公益社団法人科学技術国際交流センター（JISTEC）職員の坂井 昌子様も同行されました。
浅利学長の歓迎挨拶後、本学 寄生虫学研究室共同研究員の二瓶先生による「GIS を用いた疾病と媒介節足動物の監視」の講義が行われました。続いて、本学 寄生虫学研究室の黄 鴻堅 教授と平 健介 准教授による実習が行われ、液体標本の保存法としての二重カバーグラス法および顕微鏡を用いた寄生虫卵検査法の要領を習得しました。昼食後には、印牧病院長の案内で本学の附属動物病院を、その後、いのち博物館で本学の歴史や教育・研究に関する展示物を見学しました。

Visit by Sri Lanka National Science Foundation (NSF) delegation to Azabu University.

A total of 16 delegates of Sri Lanka National Science Foundation (NSF), led by Director-General Prof. Ananda Jayawardane, visited Azabu University on October 12, 2018. The delegates comprised of young faculty members of various universities in Sri Lanka, specializing in Veterinary Medicine and Animal Science, NSF officials and senior scientists. The delegation was accompanied by JST official Mr. Nishikawa and JISTEC official Ms. Sakai. After the welcome address by President Asari, the delegates were given a lecture entitled "Use of GIS in the Surveillance of diseases and their arthropod vectors" by Dr. Nihei. This was followed by the hands on practical to learn the technique of double cover slip method for microscopic sample preservation of parasite eggs, instructed by Prof. Ooi and Dr. Taira. After lunch, the delegates were shown around the veterinary hospital by Prof. Kanemaki, the hospital director. The whole day visit rounded up with a guided tour of the Life Museum in the campus.
