中南米4か国の高校生が来訪

2018年11月28日、メキシコ、ペルー、アルゼンチンおよびチリの中南米4か国の高校生と先生、総勢29名が本学を来訪しました。また、公益社団法人 科学技術国際交流センター（Japan International Science and Technology Exchange Center : JISTEC）専務理事の広瀬 研吉先生、国立研究開発法人 科学技術振興機構（Japan Science and Technology Agency : JST）職員の松本 茂様および末森 光子様も同行されました。参加された方は、本学 浅利 昌男学長の英語による歓迎挨拶（本学 獣医学部 獣医学科 黄 鴻堅 教授によるスペイン語での逐次通訳）の後、黄 教授のスペイン語による「医学・獣医学の外部寄生虫の概要」についての講義を受けました。また、本学 獣医学部 獣医学科 平 健介 准教授が準備した、外部寄生虫のスライド標本を顕微鏡で観察しました。その後、黄 教授の案内で、いのち博物館の展示物を見学しました。高校生たちは、様々な形と大きさの各種動物の前肢骨格の進化と機能について、特に強い関心を持って学習しました。

Latin American high school student delegation made a study visit to Azabu University,

A delegation of high school students and their teachers, totaling 29 persons from Mexico (10 students & 2 teachers), Peru (4 students & 1 teacher), Argentina (5 students & 1 teacher) and Chile (5 students & 1 teacher) visited Azabu University on November 28, 2018. The delegation was accompanied by Professor Hirose Kenichi of Japan International Science and Technology Exchange Center (JISTEC) as well as Mr. Matsumoto Sigeru and Ms. Suemori Michiko of Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST). President Asari Masao gave a welcoming address in English, which was translated into Spanish by Prof. Ooi. The visitors were then given a lecture in Spanish on the overview of ecto-parasites of veterinary and medical importance by Prof. Ooi. Microscopic specimens of arthropods prepared by Assoc. Prof. Taira were also being displayed for observation by the visitors. The students and their teachers were then guided around the Life Museum of Azabu University by Professor Ooi. They showed great interest in the skeletal exhibitions, especially in the modification of fore limbs of the various animals to adapt to their relevant function for survival.
